Complaint filed in N.A. police shooting death

The family of a man who was shot and killed by a North Augusta officer earlier this year has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against several agencies in Aiken and Edgefield counties. Attorneys for Anthony Satterwhite filed the summons and complaint in Edgefield County on Sept.

A 39-year-old Aiken woman was charged with shoplifting Tuesday after she tried to take $390 in merchandise from a store on Whiskey Road without paying. An Aiken man reported fraud Tuesday after he found an unauthorized charge on his account at a hotel in Atlanta.

Law enforcement, county sued after officer-involved shooting in Edgefield County

The family of the man who was shot and killed by a North Augusta Public Safety officer is suing multiple agencies, according to court documents. Ernest Satter-White, Sr.'s family is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Edgefield County, Edgefield County Sheriff's Office and North Augusta Public Safety, according to court documents.

City Council continues Medac negotiations

The agreement between the City and Medac to relocate the provider of services and products to anesthesia-related health care providers to North Augusta's downtown was announced in late April and approved by Council in May. The biggest holdup of carrying out the agreement to move Medac is the building of the parking deck that the company will use for employees. 'This resolution is for the purpose of authorizing the city administrator to execute related documents of the construction of a parking deck and other matters related to the Medac office building,' Mayor Lark Jones said during a special called City Council meeting on Monday.

Planning Commission approves site plan

The North Augusta Planning Commission unanimously approved three items Thursday night, including a major site plan for the new Sweetwater Commons. Sweetwater Commons will encompass 25 acres near the new Wal-Mart off exit 5, on Walnut Lane.
