Report: Woman struck in Clearwater hit-and-run

A North Augusta woman said she was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene, according to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. The incident happened about 1:40 a.m. Thursday on Westminster Way in Clearwater, according to a sheriff's report.

Rivers resigns from Williston council

Williston Town Council accepted the resignation of council member Chris Rivers September 8. Rivers, who has only been on council since October 2013, resigned due to relocation to North Augusta. While Mayor Jason Stapleton did not make the reason behind the location clear, he said council only wishes Rivers the best.

Officer charged in officer-involved shooting in Edgefield County

Officer Justin Craven is charged with misconduct in office after shooting and killing 68-year-old Earnest Satter-White, Sr. The shooting happened at the end of a chase on Feb. 10 that started on Knox Avenue in North Augusta and ended off Highway 25 in Edgefield County.
