Dead bobcat found hanging from school goalposts
School officials in southern Tennessee are investigating who hung a bobcat from the goalpost of the Tullahoma High School practice football field. Students found the dead animal Tuesday morning and reported it to a teacher.

Tennessee jailer behind bars, faces bribery charge
A former corrections officer from southern Tennessee is set for arraignment next month on charges that he took money from an inmate to allow contraband into a jail. The Tullahoma News reported that 26-year-old James M. Mayes of Manchester is scheduled to appear in Coffee County General Sessions Court on Nov. 17. Mayes is charged with bribery of a public servant, extortion and official misconduct.

Self-proclaimed ISIS member threatened to behead residents, police say
Police in Tullahoma arrested a Manchester man last Sunday for threatening to behead residents at a local apartment complex after claiming he was a member of the terrorist group ISIS. According to an affidavit, Terry McCullough was terrorizing residents at the Dossett Apartments on East Grundy Street telling them he was going to "cut their heads off" and then burn down their homes.

A Tennessee man was in custody on Thursday and facing criminal charges after claiming to be a member of ISIS and threatening to behead his neighbors and burn down their homes, police said. Tullahoma Police Chief Paul Blackwell said the man - Terry Wayne McCullough, 59 - is a known troublemaker but that the threats had to be treated seriously.

Spirits make presence known at Sam Davis Home
Tullahoma resident Justin Turner said he gets a "special feeling" each time he comes to the birthplace home of Sam Davis, "boy hero" of the Civil War's Confederacy. "You're on hallowed grounds, and I sense it each time I come here," noted Turner, who said he comes each October or November leading up to the anniversary date of young Sam Davis' death.
