'Threat' puts county on alert
A statement that was taken as a threat or warning had the town of Tunica and Tunica County on heightened alert early this week. Tunica Police Chief Richard Veazey said a Tunica resident was told Sunday by a convenience store employee of Middle Eastern descent, "This country won't be the same after Tuesday."

Man Arrested After Baby Left in Car Outside Casino
Authorities in northwest Mississippi say a man has been charged with child neglect after leaving his 1-year-old baby in a running vehicle while he was in a casino. WMC-TV reports that Martin Bass was arrested Tuesday afternoon and taken to the Tunica County jail.

GreenTech Automotive Completes Electric-Vehicle Production Plant in Tunica, Miss.
With construction on the new facility complete, GTA is making final preparations in the building's interior and has started moving equipment from its pilot manufacturing facility in , Mississippi. County library, other facilities feeling pinch of proposed budget cuts
Just weeks away from opening a second branch in Tunica County, First Regional Library director Ed Hughes revealed planned cutbacks in hours of operation in both the town of Tunica and at the new Robinsonville branch. Citing a proposed 32 percent reduction in county funding, Hughes said the R.C. Irwin library in Tunica could open 30 hours per week - and only 10 hours per week for the new space in Robinsonville.

Arrest made in pedestrian death
A 21 year old Tunica man has been charged in the hit and run death of a pedestrian on Aug. 18. Just before 8 p.m. on Aug. 18, local emergency personnel and law enforcement responded to a call on Prichard Road.
